Well, here we are! After a lengthy dry period of information (about 3 months) we finally have our first new trailer, and it's a damn good one! Kitana and Kung Lao have returned once again to fight and look better than they ever have!
It's awesome seeing the Mortal Kombat team taking a more realistic approach to their character's designs. Kitana's new look is ages beyond that of MK 2011's. POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT : However, there may be more here than meets the eye. Kitana and Kung Lao were both killed during the events of Mortal Kombat 2011. So, is this them revived (not uncommon in this game's series) or is this something else? As some devout MK followers may know, Mileena (Kitana's half monster clone) did disguise herself in 2003's pre-reboot Mortal Kombat Deception. Could this actually be Mileena? As for Kung Lao - He had a cousin who was mentioned in a casting call (given to us by my good friends over at www.trmk.org) for a Mortal Kombat digital series to be released alongside the game.
Could this be Kung Jin taking on the role of Kung Lao? Hopefully all of these questions will be answered upon the release! Mortal Kombat X is set to come out April 14, 2015 for Playstation 3,4, PC, Xbox 1 and Xbox 360.
