I've loved the RE series since I was a kid. I don't mind the deviation from the zombie subject matter as much as most. I mean.. Zombies get stale. But, it's nice to see them going back towards it and trying a more action based style in Raccoon City. This time it's being developed by Slant Six. The same company who developed a few of the Socom titles. You play as a member of Umbrella's special task force. Each character has distinct strengths. This is definitely a title to look at. The online play is surely going to be a hit. That is if people can get their heads out of the fps genre's ass long enough to take a look at it.
Those looking forward to having their heads ripped off by Hunters will have to wait, as no release date has been set.
I'm a huge fan of the fighting game genre. Namely the Mortal Kombat franchise. UMK3 is hands down the fastest and most frenzied fighting game ever made (yeah yeah sf fans, don't get your panties in a bunch over my opinion please. ). My youtube friend Dedmk is by far the best player I've seen. Watch this shit :
In case you didn't figure it out; Dedmk is the one who keeps winning.
GG to both involved of course.
I love the new MK as well and am a dedicated player. But these two have taught me everything there is to know about playing Johnny Cage.
I know plenty of people that absolutely cannot stand this game. I get it. The main character is an idiot. You can't really fight anyone. One hit and you die. It's understandable. But if you give it a chance and actually try to like the characters it can be loads of fun. You play as Abe. An inhabitant of an alien planet. A slave of corporations. Abe accidentally stumbles upon plans of that corporation that say that his kind is going to be used for food. Your goal is to escape and bring as many of your buds with you as you can. In my opinion this game has some of the best art style ever. As dated as this game is, the environments are still a lot of fun to look at. And the enemies and characters are some of the coolest looking in a game as well :
Octopus men in giant Nazi outfits. Awesome.
I absolutely could not get into this game as a kid. It had way too much of a strategy aspect to it. It's tricky and you have to play smart to get to the next level. It's all trial and error. And I think that's what I love so much about this game.
Abe's only defense against enemies besides possession? Farting. @2:00
